ACA Compliance Group has promoted Nicholas Batinich and Karen Foley to partner. Each has contributed significantly to the growth of ACA and has provided exemplary service to their clients. Please join us in congratulating them.
Nicholas Batinich, CFA, is a Partner with ACA Compliance Group, where he co-heads our Hedge Fund Practice, supervises ACA’s NFA division, and manages ACA’s Chicago office. Nicholas provides compliance consulting services to investment advisers including hedge fund, private equity, real estate, credit fund, family office, investment company, and other registered and unregistered advisers. As part of these services, he regularly performs on-site mock SEC examinations and compliance program reviews. He also drafts and reviews compliance policies and procedures and Forms ADV, as well as provides on-site and off-site consulting assistance during SEC exams. Nicholas has performed over 200 on-site mock SEC audits and compliance program reviews and completed numerous other limited-scope projects for clients on-site and off-site. In addition, he speaks frequently at industry conferences and events.
In his role as a Hedge Fund Practice Leader, Nicholas oversees and carries out sales initiatives, product development and enhancement efforts, and the building out of ACA’s hedge fund infrastructure and subject-matter expertise.
Nicholas joined ACA in 2005 after working over five years as an examiner and staff accountant at the SEC’s Midwest Regional Office, where he was hired under the federal government’s Outstanding Scholar Program. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2003 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.
Karen Foley is a partner with ACA Performance Services, where she conducts GIPS® verifications and performance examinations and provides various consulting services related to investment performance and performance measurement.
Karen works with CFA Institute members to provide GIPS training and speaks at several industry conferences on various GIPS-related topics. She has served as a member of the GIPS Executive Committee’s verification/practitioner subcommittee. In addition, Karen participated on the American Institute of CPAs’ task force for performance reporting and served as a standard setter for the Certificate in Investment Performance (“CIPM”) program sponsored by the CFA Institute.
Karen joined ACA in 2014 after working for Deloitte’s Investment Performance Services practice.
Karen speaks at industry events, participates on panels of industry experts, and conducts online webcasts focused on performance-related topics.
