Position Objective:

The individual in this position is responsible for assisting ACA’s Director(s) of HR with the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of ACA Compliance Group’s human resources functions and the supervision and management of ACA Compliance Group’s human resources team.

Summary of Responsibilities:


•Design, develop, implement and enhance corporate compensation programs, policies and procedures

•Review programs, benchmark and suggest modifications to ensure achievement of a competitive market position and organizational goals

•Ensure that ACA offers a market-based, pay-for-performance compensation program

•Oversee salary benchmarking process for all positions to ensure employees are appropriately placed within their department and location

•Review internal structure of job titles and salaries and make recommendations for improvements and consistency

•Oversee the development, updating and analysis of job descriptions

•Design, develop, implement and enhance an internal career ladder to show examples of career progression and aid in employee development discussions

•Recommend and manage annual salary increase and bonus process, including budgets, by collecting market data (general, industry specific, geographic) and model budget proposals

•Provide guidelines for linking salary increases to performance levels

•Create concept and messaging for annual total rewards statements


• Work with ACA’s benefits team to

1. Analyze and project costs for all benefit programs

2. Determine recommendations for changes to benefit plans and design

3. Ensure that all employee benefit programs are managed appropriately and that vendors are held accountable to expectations

4. Determine appropriate communication strategy to educate employees on benefit programs, changes and available resources

5. Manage all applicable federal, state, and local compliance, filings, reports, and audits related to the administration of employee benefit programs, including ERISA

6. Ensure that leave programs are managed in compliance with state and federal laws

•Prepare annual budgets and track all benefit-related expenses on a regular basis

•Serve as an escalation resource for employees on all employee benefit issues


•Ensure that ACA is in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations regarding payroll, benefits, compensation, and leave administration including (but not limited to) FLSA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, ERISA, HIPAA

•Oversee the administration of and implement enhancements to compensation, payroll and benefits practices while maintaining budgetary controls, to align with growth of ACA

•Oversee maintenance of HR department’s records and reports, pertaining to compensation, payroll and benefits

•Assist with the development and training of supervisors, hiring managers, and executive management on HR best practices regarding compensation, payroll and benefits practices, as well as equal opportunity and discrimination factors

•Work with the HR management team regarding Company-wide HR policies and initiatives

•Supervise, train, evaluate, oversee, and provide feedback to junior colleagues


•Bachelor’s Degree preferred – major or concentration in human resources, employee relations, organizational management or related discipline preferred

•7 years’ experience in an HR department in a professional services organization preferred

•3 years’ experience concentrated in the compensation and benefits arena preferred

•2 years’ experience managing an HR team preferred

•PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or other related certifications preferred

•Experience with ADP Workforce Now, SuccessFactors, Deltek or other HR-related payroll, performance, applicant tracking, information system and/or learning management system platforms preferred

•Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state agencies and regulations that govern areas of HR, including DOL, OSHA, EEOC, USCIS, NLRB, FLSA, ACA, OSHA, EEOC, ERISA, USERRA and FMLA
